What is Blue Essence?
In League of Legends, you have a few different types of currencies in which you can buy or purchase more in game features to progressively play in the game. Although keep in mind these currencies (Riot Points and Blue Essence Points) are not mandatory in order to play the game at all, they simply allow for you to unlock new things to get more out of the game itself, making it more enjoyable.
Things you can purchase with blue essence include new champions, new runes for better champion stats in game, hextech crafting, purchasing different chroma skins as they go on sale and even the ability to change your summoner name (in game name). Blue Essence is a huge part of the game in the sense that it allows you to potential customize your gameplay from stats to the way you look in game to what you like or prefer. How to Get Blue Essence in League?
Completing Different Missions
You get one mission each day consistently (which you can only complete every 24 hours). First, win of the day. This grants you some EXP and a disappointing amount of blue essence. 50, to be exact. That means that it would take you 9 whole days to get one of the cheapest champions in the game. Conclusion: this mission is not the way to go about things if you want to get Blue Essence the quickest way possible. It takes way too much energy and gives a very small reward.
But besides this one there are plenty of others. For example, during the Blood Moon or the URF event, there are very easy to complete missions. These game modes offer plenty of fun and fast gameplay, so it takes little to no time to get a win in them. But during championships, you will also be offered rewards for just watching the games. It couldn’t be any simpler!
The only thing you need to remember is the specifications. Some missions tell you to play alongside or against a certain champion. Some tell you to win under a short amount of time. If you don’t keep these small things in mind then it will take several attempts to complete these challenges.
Breaking Down Champion Shards
This is what you can earn the most blue essence with. If you have champion shards that you don’t plan on completing in the near future then you can simply break them down for Blue Essence points.
The tricky part is acquiring said shards. There are two main ways to get them, with hextech chests or champion capsules. You can get the first one by getting an S on a champion then accumulating enough key shards to make a whole key. After that, you can open the chest! Here’s the catch though: you can only do this once a season with each champion, as the game doesn’t reward you for repeatedly earning an S. Because of this, if you specialize to play one character then this likely won’t be the method for you. “Once trick players” often just have a lot of keys lying around as a product of this.
Champion capsules are much better though. You get one each time you level up, thus you can get a little bit of Blue Essence every time. The only problem with this is the fact that leveling up takes a ton of time. Especially if you are on a losing streak, because then you won’t get nearly as much EXP as you would if you won. You are basically just getting tiny bits, which will quickly take away any motivation you have to play because you might be on full tilt.
Honor Capsules and Orbs
The honor system is one of the best parts of the game. It rewards you if you reach a certain amount of “appreciation”. Basically, if you get honored after games then you gain a little bit of it and once you accumulate enough you will be given a capsule or an orb.
Once you reach honor level 3 you will start getting blue essence in these every time you reach a checkpoint. The least amount you can get is 150, which still isn’t very much and takes a ton of time to reach. This method is awful if you want to earn a lot of blue essence in a short amount of time. It’s more like a surprise reward, as you will likely forget that this system is even part of the game.
But once you reach level 5, this amount will be much higher. The capsule will give you 960 blue essence (or a higher value champion shard) and the orb will give you 200. But of course, you need to play often and get honored if you want to get to this level. It requires a lot of work and dedication, unlike the two other methods.
How Many Blue Essence Points are You Ready to Obtain?
There is no quick way to get blue essence, unfortunately, so you have to make do with these. They can get difficult and you might be discouraged if you don’t succeed at first. But trust me, it’s very worth it, as each new champion will delight you with a lot of fun and things to explore. Just don’t give up, have fun! Plus, if you’re someone who just enjoys playing the game, without having Blue Essence in your mind you’ll just naturally obtain a lot over time as you continue to play more and more.
