DoubleLift
We have already done an article on him, highlighting what he is good at and how he became one of the best players of all time. But let’s be honest: DoubleLift is an ADC that deserves a mention here, after all, he has already been named an MVP once. So, for those who don’t know him yet… He is an American League of Legends player named Peng Yiliang. He started out back in 2011 and has played for huge teams like SoloMid, CLG and Team Liquid. Each time he was the most valuable member of the team, as he has all the skills down that are required to be successful at the game.
Firstly, he is great at mechanics. His mains are Vayne and Caitlyn, both of which require extensive knowledge and practice. He is great at farming, poking and keeping one eye on the map constantly. If you are struggling with map awareness and vision control, then he is your guy. He constantly mentions how he’s looking at a lane or a certain objective and how he is going to get there. But another great thing about him is the teamwork. He started out as a support, so he knows what it takes to help others to kills and objectives. This results in a much better mood within the team and brings the morale up for all team members.
Biofrost
It is very unlikely that you haven’t heard this name yet. However, supports are usually not as famous as people with other roles like mid or jungle. Although this type of recognition is quite a shame, they do a lot to keep their teams on the winning side. Which is what Biofrost is especially good at, the support role.
His name is Vincent Wang, originally from China, but has been living in Canada since he was 3 years old. His competitive League of Legends career started in 2015 when he joined Team Frostbite. There he didn’t succeed as well, the team couldn’t get past the NACS Spring Open Qualifier, unfortunately. 2016 is when Team Solo Mid offered him a place in their Korean boot camp to try out their support role in hopes to excel in his career. And of course, he ultimately succeeded and became the group’s support for quite some time. After his success with Team Solo Mid joined the prestigious team of Counter Logic Gaming.
Nowadays, he is the captain of CLG. With this, he clearly has leadership skills to bridge the gap between new and seasoned players to create a cohesive team. Something that every 5th person in League of Legends should have, no matter their role. Biofrost is able to direct his team very well and practices with them regularly. And of course, his teamwork is on point since he’s support!
Santorin
Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen is a Danish League of Legends player. He has been active in the world of videogames ever since he was 5 years old, so he got a bit of a head start. But League of Legends was a bit different, as he only started in 2013. He took part in a lot of teams, but his first team was in Intellectual Playground. They succeeded in the 2 tournaments that took place during that time, but Santorin continued on to other groups. The list is pretty long, but the mentionable ones are Team SoloMid, H2K Gaming, Ember and NRG Esports. But right now he is playing for FlyQuest.
He’s a jungler at heart which gives him the mentality of having great vision control and map awareness. These two skills contribute to anything he does within the game, as he has to keep the enemy jungler in check and has to look out for potential ganks and counter ganks. Without these, his games could easily be lost!
He also has a pretty aggressive playstyle, as a jungler should. He knows when to pick fights and when he needs to apply pressure to certain lanes. And of course, he always finds the kill to continue snowballing the game. This results in a lot of extra gold in his pockets, which pushes him even further on the way to winning the game.
Faker
The one name in the world of League of Legends that everyone knows. If you haven’t heard it then you aren’t watching the right streams and championships. We don’t need the history, all you have got to know is that Faker has mastered every skill there is to learn within the game. He has got everything down. Farming, kiting, baiting, positioning. If you can learn from watching others play then you need to subscribe to his stream right now, Faker is mechanically gifted and it shows in his gameplay every time.
But he’s especially brilliant at picking fights. He knows when the enemy is at their most vulnerable. If you have trouble with aggressive gameplay then he is absolutely your guy, everyone can pick up on the timing when they watch Faker’s streams. He can turn almost any fight around, especially if he plays as Ryze or Vladimir. These two of his champions are absolutely unstoppable. Besides that, he always goes for the kill. And succeeds. He is often referred to as “Faker the Playmaker” because of this. Every flash and ability is calculated, his mechanics are completely on point.
